My Prayer for Creativity and Focus
I just turned in my manuscript for my next book, LEAD LIKE A WOMAN (releasing July 21, 2020), so I’m rejoicing. However, I wanted to share with you the prayer that I prayed when sitting down to write. It can be used for any endeavor (blogs, articles, projects at work) where creativity and focus are critical.
Lord, I thank you for your assignment to write LEAD LIKE A WOMAN. I know that apart from you I can do nothing (John 15:5). Therefore, I acknowledge you as the lord of this project. I submit myself to your leading as I research, conduct interviews, administer tests/quizzes, and study your word regarding this subject. Help me to wait quietly before you for a Divine download of your words that will make this message a transformative masterpiece—for your glory. Your word always prospers and accomplishes your purpose in the lives of those to whom it is sent.
I ask for your creativity to present ideas, principles, and truths in a fresh and compelling way. Go before me now, Father, and prepare the hearts of readers across cultures and economic strata to embrace the truths that I will write and the calls-to-actions that you will direct.
I decree that I am focused, productive, and committed to writing with integrity and excellence. I resist writer’s block as I receive an ever-flowing stream of thoughts from you. I resist distractions as I submit to your Divine priority. I receive your anointing and your wisdom now for supernatural clarity in organizing and writing your Divine content. I give you all the glory in advance for the success of this project. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”
